During this unprecedented times, it is important to maintaining connection: social solidarity while remaining physically distant. What does that mean? Well, by definition... Human connection is an energy exchange between people who are paying attention to one another. It’s finding ways to stay connected and feed your energy with those we are unable to see face to face. We must take care of ourselves in order to be the best version for others. This means our physical, emotional, and mental health must be a priority. As many school districts enter hiring season, we think heavily about the right person for the job. Time and time again, it has been proven that skills can be taught or transferred, but a person’s character (specifically adults) cannot be changed. So is there a balance? Do we know what “character traits” are important to the role or to the district? And how do we measure that suitability? Join us as we reflect on our experiences and explore these vital questions.
